Cuku – Neighbourhood Provisions

Cuku, is a one-stop shop found on Kirklee Road, just off of Great Western Road. Not only does Cuku sell a range of household essentials, Italian oils and pastas and a range of different and exciting alcoholic beverages, but they also have broad range of deli meats and cheeses.

Inside Cuku, there’s a lovely seating area for their café. The menu ranges from small plates, nibbles on the side, pizzas, favourites and sharing plates, all of which are priced significantly well while being ethically sourced.

The Cheese

Cuku uses ethically sourced cheeses made from goat, cow and sheep milk. Their impressive array of cheeses can be bought in slices, big blocks or even bought as a sharing board when sitting in their restaurant/cafe area.

The Coffee

Sit-in and takeaway coffee can be bought at Cuku and they also sell the coffee beans on their shelves that they use daily.

I recently ordered an oat milk latte from Cuku and it was a delightful experience. Sometimes I find that at generic coffee shops, there isn’t much thought into making the coffee and it can taste burnt. However, the baristas at Cuku make the best coffees to sip on in a pleasant atmosphere.

The Bakery

Cuku offers fresh and baked everyday pastries, and it really shows through the way they taste. I ordered the pain au chocolat, and although I went there in the late afternoon when the pastries aren’t as fresh, it made me wonder what they are like in the morning, because this pain au chocolat was truly a delight which paired perfectly with the oat latte.

Cuku also gets fresh bread in from the local Freedom Bakery, which is delivered every morning that you can buy in the store.

The Alcohol

In their store, Cuku provides an enormous range of wines and beers as well as different beverages like alcoholic milk (Panther Milk) from all over the world. If you are overwhelmed by the variety of beverages, the staff are very helpful with recommending products.
